Christian Schulz

was born 1967 in Vienna.

He is Music Director and Chief Conductor of the MOZART COLLEGIUM VIENNA.
Since 2006 he is Music Director of the concert series SCHWINGUNGEN in the Golden Hall of the Wiener Musikverein.

2005 he had appearences with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra at the Wiener Musikverein and Vienna Town Hall.

Christian Schulz works also as a guest conductor with many Symphony Orchestras and Chamber Orchestras in USA, Canada, Europe and Asia.
The list of Orchestras directed by him has meanwhile grown considerably, ranging from Vienna Symphony Orchestra , Tonkuenstler Orchestra, Montreal Symphony, Vancouver Opera, Austrian Hungarian Haydn Philharmony, Philharmony Halle, George Enescu Philharmony Bukarest to chamber orchestras like Wiener Concert Verein and Vienna Sinfonietta.

He performed in Concert Halls like Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, Avery Fisher Hall, Kennedy Center D.C. , Verizon Hall, Salle Wilfrid -Pelletier, Orpheum Vancouver, Kravis Center for the Performing Arts,……..e.g.

2005 he performed together with Alexandre da Costa at the "Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde" in Wiener Musikverein. Continuosly they work as an ideal team for Concerts and CD productions. ( XXI-Label )

During 2003 and 2004 he was doing Opera Productions at the Bregenz Festival .

2003 Christian Schulz became Principle Conductor of the State Philharmony of ARAD.

Since 2002 Christian Schulz was conducting the Wiener Concert Verrein every year at the Bregenz Festival.

From 1999 he also was doing at least two first performances of contemporary music a year - specially by composers from Austria.

He was Music Assistant of Franz Welser Möst, Yakov Kreizberg and Vladimir Fedosejev.

He conducted the Vienna Sinfonietta at concerts in Europe as well as in Korea.
The record "Classic Highlights" was a big success for Christian Schulz together with the Vienna Sifonietta.

With members of the Vienna Symphony he founded the Ambassade Orchestra of Vienna.
They toured through the USA, South America, Japan and Europe and made some very successful CD productions.
For their last CD they got a Gold Record in Austria.

Christian grew up in a well known Viennese family of musicians.
He studied Violoncello and Conducting at the University of Music in Vienna.
As a cellist he was engaged in many chamber music formations as well as orchestras.
Resently with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.
